Wild Edible identification, preparation and medicinal history workshop with Cornell Cooperative Extension Wild Edibles instructor, Pat Banker. Explore and identify edible wild plants, learn how to prepare, preserve and enjoy them throughout the year. Lunch will be provided and will include many of the plants identified on the walks. Dandelion bread, White Pine Cookies, herbal teas, stew made with wild roots and seasonings, and other dishes made with currently available wild foods. Medicinal history of many of the plants found will be discussed. Group will end the workshop by making a tincture and an ointment. Wild Edible recipe booklet included. Dress for the outdoors. $60 per participant. Pay by check, credit card or at the event.
