Pruning Your Home Orchard for Success - Watch Only

Pruning Your Home Orchard for Success
Saturday March 12th, 1-2:30pm
Zoom

Join Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County, Roger Ort of Ort Family Farms, and Farm Ops as we take a deep dive into best practices and successful techniques for pruning your home orchard for higher level production this summer and into next year. Knowing how, when, and where to prune your fruit trees will ensure that new growth and larger fruit have the best chance to occur. Roger will guide participants through a live-virtual format to understand how to identify certain parts of the tree, such as water shoots, and old growth, different pruning techniques, and how to look at a tree and create a diagram for pruning to ensure production in the future. Learn how to manage your home orchard to keep your trees producing. This live-virtual webinar is for veterans specifically. Attendees should have at a minimum three years of fruit tree production experience to attend.

The funding supporting this workshop comes from the FarmOps program at Cornell University and targets active service members & military veterans only who reside in NY or NJ. Registration is limited to 15 and will fill up quickly. Questions and follow-up by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County will help us determine final eligibility to attend and participate in this workshop.
