Calling at Veterans located in the Southern Tier:
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County will be hosting a workshop on learning the fundamentals of raising small livestock such as pigs and sheep. This workshop will be a fast paced all-inclusive presentation. Topics that will be covered include: breeds best suited for our climate, systems for raising and finishing the animals, and marketing. The afternoon will feature an on-farm hands-on component including a tour of the farm and discussion of their wholesale and farmers market operation.
Date: Saturday March 25th Time: 9am-2pm Cost: $25pp, includes lunch and all materials
Priority for spots will be given to veterans in the Southern Tier, but others are welcome to attend as space permits. Travel stipends are available for veterans traveling further than one hour to the workshop.
