Vets Growing Vegetables

Calling at Veterans located in the Southern Tier:

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County will be hosting a workshop on learning the fundamentals of growing vegetables using high tunnels. This workshop will be a fast paced all-inclusive presentation given by Judson Reid, of the Cornell Cooperative Extension Harvest NY team. Topics that will be covered include: varieties, cultural practices, pest controls, etc... We also will look briefly at business planning and marketing, and then will host an on-farm hands-on component including a tour of the farm and discussion of their CSA and farmers market operation.

Date: Saturday March 25th
Time: 9am-2pm
Cost: $25pp, includes lunch and all materials

Priority for spots will be given to veterans in the Southern Tier, but others are welcome to attend as space permits. Travel stipends are available for veterans traveling further than one hour to the workshop.
