Making Pickles

Canning with Ann: Principles of Pickles
Saturday July 16th
9am

Learn proper techniques for making both dill pickles and zucchini relish. We'll discuss using both cucumbers and zucchini for these recipes. We’ll review the types of equipment required and food preparation techniques. You will receive the recipes and an informational packet about canning.

This workshop will take place at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County on Saturday July16th starting at 9am. Attendees will take home what they make at the class and the recipe(s). This workshop is geared towards those who have an interest in preserving the harvest, and may, or may not, have experience canning.

The funding supporting this workshop comes from Broome County Department of Veterans Services and FarmOps in partnership with Cornell Small Farms Program and targets active service members & military veterans only who reside in NY. Registration is limited to 15 and will fill up quickly. Questions and follow-up by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County will help us determine final eligibility to attend and participate in this workshop.
