The NYS Shooting Sports program utilizes the resources of the land-grant university system and the time, talent and dedication of state and nationally certified Cornell Cooperative Extension educators and 4-H volunteers. Safety is always the primary focus of the program, along with positive youth development skills. The emphasis of all 4-H programs is the development of youth as individuals and as responsible and productive citizens.  The activities of the 4-H Shooting Sports program and the support of caring adult leaders provide young people with opportunities to develop life skills, self-worth and conservation ethics.  Some of the specific objectives of the program include: teaching self-discipline, problem solving, sportsmanship and appreciation and understanding of natural resources.  The shooting sports program is also an opportunity to strengthen families through participation in lifelong recreational activities.  We do recommend that a parent or guardian accompany the youth participants whenever possible.

Come join this program in which youth can experience learning that is hands-on, fun and safe.  Their is no fee for the program for current Seneca County 4-H members.  Not in 4-H?  No problem!  Non-members can enroll in a one year membership for just $15 and receive all of the benefits of 4-H membership for the year, including Shooting Sports events.  Membership is necessary for insurance purposes and forms can be found here.   You can call the office with any questions or concerns at (315)539-9251.
