Pie Making 101

This year during the Erie County Fair Livestock Market Auctions we will be selling pies made by 4-H members to benefit the 4-H program.

Do you want to learn how to make a pie?  Perhaps brush up on pie making skills?  Want to exhibit a fresh pie at the fair?  Join us as we learn together!

This program will be a 2 step opportunity:

Step 1—Attend an educational workshop on May 10 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Marilla Methodist Church.  You will learn about the history of pie making, food safety, fruit preparation, crust preparation and the “how to” by making your own personal mini pie.  This workshop will be presented by the Basiles.

Step 2—Participate in the actual pie making.  You will make 2 pies, one for the auction and one for the 4-H member to take home (to bake and eat or freeze to bake later to exhibit at the fair at Daily's in East Aurora and in July.

Please note: 1 parent/adult must accompany youth during both sessions
