Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County will be holding a fruit tree grafting workshop at the Extension Learning Farm on Saturday, March 28th from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The instructor for this class will be Don O’Shea, Cornell Master Gardner Volunteer, Cornell Master Forest Owner Volunteer, and longtime tree grafter with over 30 years of experience.
Sign-in will be in the back classroom at 9:30 a.m.
The initial part of the program will run until 2 PM. We will break for lunch, and the afternoon covers grafting demonstrations. Subjects covered include tree biology, reasons for different types of grafting, root stocks, compatibility, care and maintenance, planning techniques, and tools and equipment. The class size is limited, so please register early to insure a space in the workshop.
Please avoid wearing fragranced products to avoid triggering allergies, asthma and migraines in others attending the programs. Thank you!
The $20 fee includes food, drinks, and one grafted tree.
