EDEN Emergency Response

EDEN Emergency Response

Emergency and disasters happen. Please help Seneca County CCE help you if an emergency comes our way!

As part of New York’s Extension Disaster Education Network (EDEN) through Cornell University, Seneca County CCE is often tasked with providing timely information to the state when disaster strikes as well as getting information out to our producers. More information about EDEN can be found at http://eden.cce.cornell.edu/.

In order to effectively serve you as well as meet our obligations to NYS and the CCE system, we need to know the best way to contact you when we are asked to provide damage assessments or push out vital information during an emergency. This contact information will allow us to provide a rapid response for more timely and complete reporting to state and county emergency management or Ag and Markets officials to expedite needed resources for recovery. Reports and assessments we have been asked to make in the past include wind events, flash flooding and damages from an early or late frost. These assessments are often needed in less than 24 hours of the request. We were also asked to provide hand sanitizer to Ag producers and related businesses during the pandemic and a contact list would have been helpful in providing you with this opportunity.

Please provide us with your name, emergency contact information and town. This will provide a data base to contact you in case of a disaster in your area.

Thank you in advance for helping us strengthen our system to better serve you!
