Join CCE Nassau Educator Beth Labelson, MA, RD, CDN for our Dining with Diabetes program.
Dining with Diabetes (DWD) is a series of five fun and interactive classes focused on disease management and prevention. Classes include research-based education led by a Registered Dietitian, cooking demonstrations, and healthy recipe tastings.
The program is open to all and is of particular interest to individuals with diabetes or prediabetes and members of their family and support system. An exclusive program offered only by Cooperative Extensions across the United States, DWD helps participants learn self-management strategies to better manage, prevent, or delay complications surrounding diabetes.
The course helps individuals build food skills through cooking demonstrations while learning about carbohydrate counting, portion control, label reading, and meal planning.
