Bread Baking Workshop

Bread Baking Workshop

Ovid - Wednesday, March 4, from 6pm to 7pm @ Ovid Fire Hall (2136 Brown Street, Ovid, NY 14521)

Fee: $15 per person

Do you love the smell of fresh baked bread and want to learn how to make it at home? It may take a little longer than grabbing a baguette or rolls at the store, but having your house smell like the inside of a bakery and taking that first bite are well worth it!

Learn from CCE Seneca’s Master Food Preservers and nutrition staff how to work with different types of dough and the tricks, techniques, and safe procedures for baking bread in your kitchen. Healthy homemade breads will include:

- sourdough rolls
- soda bread
- whole grain soft pretzels

There are many different bread products on the market with varying health claims that often leave people with many questions. Learn some facts about sourdough, whole grains, and sprouted bread.

Participants will sample different types of breads, gain hands on experience crafting homemade pretzels, and go home with recipes, nutrition information, and materials to confidently make their own bread at home.

Come join us for learning and fun in the kitchen and don’t forget to bring your aprons!

If you are unable to access the internet, please call CCE Seneca at 315-539-9251.
