Weeks Without Walls - Guided Nature Paddle

Guided Nature Paddle by the 4-H Education Center at Finch Hollow, in partnership with Broome County Parks.

We know you have heard of a "nature walk", but what about a "nature paddle"?  Reserve space now for this relaxing program on the lake at Dorchester Park in Whitney Point.  Canoes and kayaks will be available for rent, or you may bring your own.  Though a few paddling pointers may be provided, previous canoe or kayak experience is strongly recommended.

The Guided Nature Paddle will take place on Wednesday, September 1st, 9:00 am - 11:00 am or Friday, September 3rd, 9:00 am - 11:00 am.  Participants can register for one of the two dates the program is offered.  For the first 15 minutes to 1/2 hour of the program, we will give people time to get their rentals if needed and for everyone else to get their crafts in the water prior to the start when all are set.  The rental fees are $20.00 deposit and $8.00 per hour for kayaks and $5.00 per hour for canoes.  Note: Youth ages 6-11 MUST BE in a boat with an adult. Participants ages 12 and up may be in their own boat (rentals or otherwise). Personal Floatation Devices must be worn while on the water.
