2021 Virtual Farm Fest Activities Kit

Welcome to The 2021 Virtual Farm Fest Kit Registration.

For more than 20 years Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Oneida County Farm Bureau have been hosting the Farm Fest field trip opportunity for 4th and 5th grade students.

This year we are offering it virtually which will allow K-5th grade students the ability to share in this educational opportunity.

1.  While supplies last you can register to receive a FREE Farm Fest Kit which contains activities from the Ag in the Classroom website.  The kit will contain activities on seed starting, Embryology, wool and an ice cream making kit. ( If you received the ice cream making kit with the Ag Lit book you will not receive another ice cream kit but you will get the additional Farm Fest activities. While supplies last)

2. By registering for this event you agree to have all your students participate in the Why Milk...... ? Poster contest sponsored by Dairy Promotion.  Posters must be received in our office by June 18.  One student from each grade (k-5) will win a Steve Spangler Science Kit.  The teacher of the winning student will receive a $50 Gift certificate from Ag in the Classroom compliments of the Oneida County Farm Bureau.  Participation in the poster contest is mandatory to any classroom that receives a kit.

3.  Our plan is to distribute the kits at the end of April beginning of May.  The sooner Teachers register the sooner we can start making the kits and scheduling a delivery date.  I understand that with COVID some schools may have specific needs for delivery.  There is a spot in the registration for you to share those needs.  Please also send me an email lsk23@cornell.edu.

We expect to have over 4,000 youth participate in this virtual event.  We will have your buckets to you as soon as possible.

4.  Visit our website  After May 1st to explore with your students the different aspects of farming in Upstate NY.  We have also scheduled Live question and answer Zoom meeting for participating Classrooms.

We hope you and your students enjoy the 2021 Virtual Farm Fest.

Please Note: Each classroom must register separately.  No classroom of over 30 students will be accepted and no duplicate teachers will be accepted.
