Join us as we replanting of the Strathmore Neighborhood at our volunteer tree planting event on Saturday, November 5th from 930am-12pm. We will be planting 100 trees along streets throughout the community and in Upper Onondaga Park, restoring its historic character and following the park’s original designers intent.
This tree planting event is an important component of the Save the Rain program, a comprehensive stormwater management plan intended to reduce pollution moving to Onondaga Lake and its tributaries. Each tree intercepts over 1,000 gallons of storm water annually. From this planting, our impact on the water shed will be in taking up over 90,000 gallons of storm water annually.
