Supporting Healthy Families

Cornell Cooperative Extension is pleased to announce the Supporting Healthy Families Program. This class will be offered via ZOOM for six Thursdays beginning on May 20th from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon.  There is no cost to attend. The program is based on Cornell University’s “Discipline Is Not A Dirty Word” and the “Parenting Skills Workshop Series” curriculums and will also be incorporating the Choose Health: Food, Fun and Fitness curriculum and Making Ends Meet. It is appropriate for parents/caregivers with children from toddler to teens.  It will combine basic parenting skills with healthy lifestyle skills offering parents/caregivers the unique opportunity to foster healthy relationships with the children in their care.  The parenting skills will focus on encouragement, addressing misbehaviors in a positive manner, offering choices, discipline vs. punishment, looking at the environment instead of the child’s behavior and setting a good example.  Healthy lifestyle principles will complement the parenting skills each week.  Pre-registration is requested by May 19th to receive class materials.  If you have any questions please contact Samantha Davis at 518-962-4810 or smd242@cornell.edu.

Please complete the registration in full.  We will use the information to contact you for the class, distribute class materials and because CCE receives federal funding.
