Raised Bed Construction and Asparagus Growing Workshop

The event is free and open to the public

Join Cornell Cooperative Extension at The Vintage Cow Farmers Market for a fun and educational gardening workshop. We will be gathering to demonstrate how to build an inexpensive wooden raised garden bed. Demonstration will include a how-to on planting asparagus and discussion on maintaining the planting for an abundant perennial asparagus crop.

Discussion Topics to Include:

- Types of materials needed to construct and fill your raised garden bed

- Benefits of raised bed gardening

- Local sources of materials

- Good crops for raised beds

- How to plant asparagus

- Care for and maintenance for a successful asparagus patch

- Q and A on gardening topics
