Dryden Youth Programs are enrolling for the months of December 2020 and January 2021. Programs begin on December 2nd. Please note that there will be no programing between December 21st and January 5th. Programs are open to Middle and High School aged youth in the Town of Dryden and will follow NYS and CDC safety guidelines. Full program descriptions and schedule details are found below. Participants should bring their own food, water and be sure to dress properly for the outdoors if they sign up for an outdoor based program.
Dryden Lake Explorers (Outdoors) Mondays Dec. 7th - Jan. 25th from 3-5:30 PM. We will meet at the Large Pavilion at Dryden Lake. Come join us as we hike, explore the Finger Lakes Trail, Bird Watch and visit with the local beaver family.
Dog Training Fundamentals with the Ithaca Dog Training Club - (Two Groups - Please sign your child up for one of the two groups) (Please note that there are two very sweet dogs available for loan (Beau or Lucy) if your child needs a dog to work with. (Indoors) 4H Acres - Kiwanis Hall. Group One - 4-4:45, Group Two 5-5:45. Tuesdays Dec. 8, 15 Jan. 12, 19, 26, Feb. 2, 9, 16.
Primitive Pursuits – (Outdoors) Wednesdays from 1p.m. - 6p.m.. at 4H Acres. Dec. 2nd- January 27th. Learn ancestral survival skills such as friction fires, shelter building, native crafts, tracking, nature awareness & more!
Science with the Sciencenter! (Indoors) 3-6PM at 4H Acres, Kiwanis Hall. Thursdays Dec. 3rd - Dec. 17th. Come explore the exciting world of Science!
Hiking at Monkey Run (Outdoors) 3-6PM at 4H Acres. Fridays Dec. 4th - 18th. Come experience the joys, and special challenges, of hiking in the colder months. We will take advantage of Cornell's Monkey Run Preserve, which borders 4H Acres.
Arts and Crafts - (Indoors mostly) Thursdays Jan. 7th - 28th from 3-6PM. at 4H Acres, Kiwanis Hall. Participants can look forward to making a basket, learning to work with fiber and possibly getting outside to create a coal burned a spoon or bowl.
Games and Challenges (Indoors and Outdoors) Fridays Jan. 8th - 29th at 4H Acres. We will play socially distant group games, experience fun challenges and share fun activities.
