What is STARR?
STARR, also known as the State Teen Action Reps Retreat, is typically an annual weekend experience for 4-H teens from across New York State to get together to build leadership skills as well as network with peers and adults from across the state.
STARR encompasses the best of team building activities, youth community action & youth adult partnerships in one fun-filled, fast-paced weekend. Participants gain new skills and knowledge by attending workshops of their choice, learning how to “make the best better” and participating in awesome community services activities!
Please join us for an exciting opportunity to gain new skills and knowledge all while making new friends and having FUN!
Schedule at a Glance:
- 9AM – 9:20AM: Introduction (opening ceremony, all participants)
- 9:25 – 10:05AM— Roundtable 1 – Breakout Rooms— (get to know one another)
- 10:15 – 11:15AM – Keynote Speaker
- 11:25 – 12:15 – Roundtable 2 – Breakout Rooms (discuss keynote message, more team building)
- 12:15 – 1 PM – Lunch
- 1-1:40 PM – Roundtable 3 – Breakout Rooms (discuss keynote message, more team building)
- 1:45 – 2:25 – Team Games (General Session) – fast paced and engaging.
- 2:25—10 Minute Break
- 2:35 – 3:15 – Roundtable 4 or Closing Ceremony
