American Farmland Trust’s national Women for the Land initiative addresses the obstacles that women landowners face in accessing conservation programs and resources.
A key part of Women for the Land initiative involves hosting “learning circles” that empower women landowners to adopt environmentally sound farming practices, protect farmland, and improve the viability of their farms.
Please join us for the Ohio Women Farmland Owners Learning Circle – Farming for Clean Water, held at: Luckey Farmers, Inc., 1200 Main Street, Woodville, OH 43469 on November 14, 2018. Program starts at 9:00am and ends at 3:00pm. Lunch will be provided.
Have you ever wondered how certain farming practices can impact water quality? Do you know how water moves through and over your farmland, and if this is causing a positive or negative impact on water quality? Join agriculture and conservation professionals along with other landowners like yourself to learn about the basic practices that will help retain nutrients in your fields where you want them, instead of running into our streams and lakes.
Accommodations for persons with disabilities may be requested by calling 419-354-5517 no later than 3 days prior to event to ensure sufficient time to make arrangements. Requests received after this date will be met when possible.
