Discovering Moths & Butterflies

Did you know the colorful wings of butterflies’ and moths’ play an important role in their lives? With warm, spring days here and summer quickly approaching, native butterflies and moths are emerging! Come join us at the Center on 6/25 at 10:00am as we discuss the life cycle and histories of the different butterflies and moths that can be found in New York, then go outside and look for them around the center! While the two insects belong to the same family, there are characteristics that set them apart that we will identify. We will also be discussing silkmoths and how they differ from other moths and why it's believed their population is declining in upstate NY.

Close-toed shoes, sneakers, or hiking boots are recommended as we will be outside for a duration of the program. Please dress accordingly for the weather and a walk in the woods.

The fee for this program is only $4.00 per person with a family rate of $12.00. Children under the age of three are free!
