4-H Communication Workshop

According to the Statistic Brain Research Institute: 74% of people suffer from speech anxiety. 4-H provides programming so youth can be comfortable speaking in public. The Public Presentation Program is one of 4-H’s most beneficial and rewarding experiences. It is the one most often credited by 4-H alumni as having given them an edge above peers in both college and professional careers. Dr. Heather Stassen-Ferrara from Cazenovia College will discuss presentation structure and keeping the audience's attention. If you are interested in becoming a better public speaker this workshop is for you.
A native of Rochester, NY, Dr. Heather Stassen-Ferrara is Assistant Professor and Program Director of the Communication Studies Program at Cazenovia College. She hold a doctorate in rhetoric from Ohio University. Dr. Ferrara teaches a variety of courses in speech communication and human communication theory. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her son, George.
