Lansing Youth Services is enrolling for Fall 2022 programs!
These programs are open to youth in 5th through 8th grade and will follow CDC and NYS Guidelines.
All programs will be held at either Myers Park, or in the middle school with Lansing's Program Manager, Travis. The group will meet outside the main entrance of the school at 2:33pm and walk down to Myers or the classroom following the check in procedure. Pick up will be at 5:15 at location provided next to each program.
**you will be notified by email or phone if the location changes due to weather**
**Please always come prepared to be outdoors with weather appropriate outerwear and footwear as we will be outdoors whenever possible**
THE FUN:
Game On!: Mondays, Sept 26 – Oct 24. No program Oct 10. LMS
Kick off the school year with all things games! We will have tons of board games, outdoor games and new equipment to utilize! Come join LYS as we start with our ever popular games programs and learn, teach and play everything related to tabletop and outdoor games!
Outdoor Adventure: Tuesdays, Sept 27 – Oct 25. LMS
Love being outdoors and learning fun skills like fire building, survival shelters, navigation, tool making and natural arts and crafts? Come ready to be OUTSIDE for the whole program with weather appropriate clothing and footwear. We will head to Myers Park, Salmon Creek, and the woods behind the school to practice these, and more backcountry living and survival skills. Leave No Trace principals will be incorporated and a clean up day will also take place to beautify our natural spaces!
Crafter's Corner: Wednesdays, Sept 28 - Oct 26. LMS
This new program is all about crafting and creating beautiful, intricate and awe-inspiring arts and crafts. Many pre-planned activities are on the docket, with more to be added! Epoxy and resin projects, paper quilling, sculpture making, and soapstone carving will kick off the activities!
Playscape Planners: Thursdays, Sept 29 – Oct 27. LMS
Do you know of some outdoor green spaces that could use some spicing up? Join LYS and a team from Cornell as we take a look at local playgrounds, green spaces, and come up with ideas you think would be great for Lansing. Creating detailed plans will be the end design project, some come help design the ultimate outdoor space you want to see!
