LYS Sept to Oct 2021

Lansing Youth Services is enrolling for Fall 2021 programs!

These programs are open to youth in 5th through 8th grade and will follow CDC and NYS Guidelines.

All programs will be held at either Myers Park in Pavilion B, or at the All Saints Church across the street from the middle school with Lansing's Program Manager, Travis.  The group will meet outside the main entrance of the school at 2:33pm and walk down to Myers or the church following the check in procedure.  Pick up will be at 5:15 at location provided next to each program. 

**you will be notified by email or phone if the location changes due to weather**

**Please always come prepared to be outdoors with weather appropriate outerwear and footwear as we will be outdoors whenever possible**

THE FUN:

Mad Science:  Mondays, Sept 20 – Oct 25. No program Oct 11All Saints Church

Spend your Monday's Experimenting!  We will be exploring science by experimenting with baking soda, vinegar, electricity, corn starch, food coloring, shaving cream, and maybe even some dry ice!  Come help us discover!

Outdoor Adventure:  Tuesdays, Sept 21 – Oct 26.  Myers Park Pavilion B

Love being outdoors and learning fun skills like fire building, survival shelters, navigation, tool making and natural arts and crafts.  Come ready to be OUTSIDE for the whole program with weather appropriate clothing and footwear.  We will head to Myers Park, Salmon Creek, and the woods behind the school to practice these and more backcountry living and survival skills.

Unusual Art: Wednesdays, Sept 22 - Oct 27. All Saints Church

This new program is all about creating art like you never have before and is inspired by muralists and non-conventional artists.  We will be using various way to apply paint to large and small scale pieces, create sculptures, and opportunities to "think outside the box" and create your own new method of art creation!  

Outdoor Cooking: Thursdays, Sept 23 – Oct 28.  Myers Park Pavilion B

Come make some tasty, healthy snacks with us!  We will be cooking over the campfire, over the charcoals, using the sun, and an introduction to Leave No Trace and zero impact campfire cooking.  We will be outdoors for his program, so please bring weather appropriate clothing and footwear.
