Home Tomato Canning

Learn how to safely can fresh, local tomatoes at home to take advantage of the seasonal bounty!

Session I, 8:30-11:00 AM, will include a presentation and overview on home canning principles, hands-on boiling water bath canning of two tomato-based products, and participants will receive an informational packet and sample canned good to take home. This session is geared towards the beginner or those wanting to refresh their canning skills.

Session II will include a brief review of basic home canning principles, an introduction to pressure canning equipment and procedures, hands-on pressure canning of two tomato-based products, and participants will receive an informational packet and sample canned good to take home. This session is geared towards the experienced home canner or as a follow up to session I.
