Heirloom Tomatoes Zoom Class - Feb 8, 2022

Heirloom vegetable varieties are prized by home gardeners for superior flavor, uniqueness, and other characteristics that are not always present in modern varieties. Instructor Chrys Gardener will share information on some of her favorite heirloom varieties, including where to source seeds and plants, tips on growing tomatoes from seed, managing diseases of heirloom tomato plants, and how to save your own seeds for next year’s crop.

About Our Instructor: Chrys Gardener currently teaches online courses in Organic Gardening and Garden Design at Cornell's School of Integrated Plant Science and manages an ecological garden design and installation business with her husband. Chrys was formerly a horticultural educator at CCE Tompkins, specializing in community gardens and county beautification. She is also a dedicated food gardener, producing most of their vegetables and fruits for the year on their small homestead.

Fees for classes are pay-what-you-wish, and we are only able to continue this programming when enough of the community chooses to pay.
