HHW event, Cayuga County

The annual fall Cayuga County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) day event is a great opportunity for all Cayuga County reisdents to properly dispose of common (and sometimes not so common) household hazardous wastes FOR FREE! This proper disposal protects human health, our community and the environment.
Acceptable Household Hazardous Wastes include:
- Products containing chemicals
- OIL BASED paints and stains
- Turpentine, paint thinners, brush cleaners
- Pesticides, herbicides, fungicides (insect, weed and fungus killers)
- Mercury thermometers and barometers
- Liquid mercury (quick silver)
- Florescent tubes and bulbs
- Compact Florescent bulbs (CFLs)
- Driveway sealer
- Household cleaners
- Gasoline
- Gas/oil, oil/water, gas/water mixtures
- Antifreeze
- Mothballs
- Pool Chemicals
- Photograph developing chemicals
- Propane tanks
Look for warnings like "danger" "toxic" or "reactive".

You MUST be a Cayuga County resident or dropping off waste for a Cayuga County resident to participate in this event.
