Soil Improvement: This much-neglected topic can give participants tools to improve the health of all types of gardens. Well-nourished and well-cared-for soil will produce the healthiest plants with the best long-term outcomes, whether they are annual vegetables, ornamental flowers, lawn grasses, or trees and shrubs. Good soil also helps sequester carbon, cleans water, resists erosion, and nurtures the ecosystem. Participants will learn how soil is structured, how it functions, and how best to care for it.
Saturday, April 2, 2022 ∙ 10:00 – 11:30am
Program Cost: $30
Recommended Age: Adult

Gardening with Children: This class reviews the factors that should be considered when inviting children into a garden, or when creating a garden for them. Participants will design a sample garden for their special child(ren) and will learn a range of child-friendly gardening activities.  Especially for parents, grandparents, and caregivers.
