Join Alice Jones on June 19th at DJ Farm (1506 Eastern Rock Road, Boonville) from 1:00-4:30pm to improve your showmanship skills and learn how to prep your horse for shows!
Alice holds multiple National Titles in APHA all-around competition, including Honor Roll Amateur Showmanship and Lifetime Point Leader in Amateur Showmanship. She gave up her Amateur status in 2016 to start giving lessons on AQHA Showmanship for Youth and Amateur competitors and trains for AQHA all-around events, including Hunter Under Saddle and Western Pleasure. She also gives lessons to beginner and intermediate riders and takes pride in bringing along riders who want to learn how to effectively work with their horse to be competitive on a local or regional level.
Showmanship Portion will run from 1:00-2:30pm. This includes hands on practice with the horse you registered with mastering the basics of Showmanship, including halter fit, maneuvers and positions. (Maximum of 8 horse and rider combinations. Other youth can be auditors)
Show Prep Portion will run from 3:00-4:30pm (This portion will include learning how to clip, pull/shorten manes, and band)
Register NOW: First Come First Serve, Only up to 8 youth will be able to bring their horses, **Auditor spots open to other 4-H youth.

Registration Closes June 15th.
Youth participating with their horse should come prepared with a show halter or halter they plan to use for showmanship. A lead shank with a long enough chain is needed as well.
