Hello Dryden Families, Welcome to Dryden Youth Programs Summer Program offerings. Programs are for Dryden youth, ages 9 - 14. Programs take place in various locations within the Town of Dryden. All programs that take place at Hammond Hill will meet at the big parking lot near Camp Earth Connection (63 Hammond Hill Rd., Freeville). 

FULL - Outdoor Adventures - June 27-30 from 9a.m - 3p.m. at Hammond Hill State Forest. Bring your lunch and get ready to explore, hike, build a fire and discover the abandoned cabin.

FULL - Primitive Pursuits - July 4 - 7 from 12p.m. - 6 p.m. at Hammond Hill State Forest. Come learn fun and important survival skills such as shelter building, fire by friction, wild foods and more!

Nature Explorers - July 11 - 13. Please note that Monday and Tuesdays program will meet at the large pavilion at Dryden Lake from 9-1. Please note - Tuesday, 7/12, parents will need to transport their children to Treman Marina in Ithaca. We will be participating in the Floating Classroom! Program will meet from 9-3pm.

Fishing Frenzy! - July 18 - 21 from 9-1 at Dryden Lake, large pavilion. Come learn to be a safe, effective fisherperson as we try and catch warm water fish from Dryden Lake. Participants should wear sun glasses or protective eyewear if they don't wear glasses. They should also wear a brimmed hat.

FULL Outdoor Cooking - July 25 - 28 at 4H Acres (418 Lower Creek Rd.) from 9-3. Come and make great food, including deserts, using the Dutch oven, the open flame and possibly the pit. Participants can look forward to participating in the 4H Fairs annual Iron Chef contest on Thursday.

FULL - Arts and Crafts - August 15 - 18 at Dryden Lake from 9-1. Participants can look forward to coal burning, basket making, working with primitive glue, netting and more!

FULL - Get Lost! - August 22 - 25 at Hammond Hill from 9-3. Participants can look forward to learning how to use a map and compass, lost proofing techniques, Search and Rescue protocols and more.

Hiking at Monkey Run - August 29 - Sept. 1 from 12-6p.m. This program will meet at 4H Acres (418 Lower Creek Rd.) Lets go on a hike and learn how to use a camp stove, set-up a bear bag and much more!

 

All programs adhere to CDC Guidelines. Masks are required for indoor programs as well as for time traveling in the 4H Vans.
