Rockland County 4-H Presents: Beginner Dog Training for Youth
About the program: This foundation training class employs positive training methods that reward desirable behaviors to help your dog learn in a humane way. These methods foster a trusting and closer bond between owners and their dogs.
Learn from a professional dog trainer:
- Canine body language and how it can help you to understand what your dog is saying to you.
- How to communicate clearly with your dog through the use of a reward marker.
- How to teach your dog to pay Attention to you, Come when called, Sit, Down, and Walk Politely on a leash.
Dates: Wednesdays, May 10, 17, 24, 31
Time: 6:30pm - 7:30pm
Where: Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rockland County (10 Patriot Hills Drive, Stony Point, NY 10980)
Who: Youth ages 8-18. For youth safety, youth ages 13 and under need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian. We recommend that all parents/guardians stay for the program.
Cost: $100 per dog. Financial Assistance is available. Registration is limited to 6 dogs. Registration and payment are required to reserve your space.
