Backyard Composting Basics

Composting is an important action everyone can take to help create healthier garden soils, prevent food waste being sent to the landfill, and reduce emissions that contribute to climate change.

In this workshop attendees will learn the basics of the composting process and how to create and maintain their backyard bin.  We will explain each step of the composting process including site selection, the pros and cons of various composting bin types, acceptable materials to compost, and how to harvest and use the finished product. Copies of the presentation will be emailed to participants as well as the handouts.

The workshop will be held on in the Exhibit room on the second floor of the Broome County Public Library on 185 Court St, Binghamton, NY 13901.

Please contact Josh if you have any questions or are having difficulties registering.  Email jse67@cornell.edu or call (607) 584-5011.
