County HORSE Communications

No other program in 4-H is more respected than 4-H Horse Communications.  Providing youth the opportunity to share thoughts and ideas is one of the key youth development opportunities that 4-H offers.

On the registration you will be asked to select a time for your presentation.  We will do our best to honor your request.  However, please understand that we rely upon volunteers to be evaluators and their time is valuable.  You may be required to shift your time if there are large gaps in the schedule due to low participation.  Presentations are scheduled approximately every 15/20 minutes.

REMINDER!  A Horse Communication is MANDATORY if you are planning on showing a horse at the Boonville Oneida County Fair!!  Presentations MUST BE COMPLETED by April 1st.

DUE TO COVID: This year we are offering ONE location and several dates for Horse Communications.  There is also the option of a video recording submission.

3/20 at CCE in Oriskany

3/27 at CCE in Oriskany

If you do not want to possibly qualify to attend the District Horse Communications event there will be an option of submitting a video recording of your presentation.

**New this year is the additional option of trying a Impromptu Speech or Job Interview.  These two categories are not able to qualify to go on to the District or State Level.  Mock Job Interviews will be held February 20th.  There is a separate online registration for Job Interviews.
