Best Blueberries Ever! Zoom Class - Feb 22, 2022

Best Blueberry Year Ever! Lots of home growers struggle with blueberries, but once you unlock their secrets, you'll get bountiful harvests. Join Cornell Small Fruits Specialist Anya Osatuke who will guide you through making sure your blueberries get the late winter pruning they need for summer production. The Tuesday evening Zoom class will guide you through testing, prepping and amending soil, choosing the right varieties for your needs, pruning techniques to maximize plant health and fruit production, and treating common problems that can arise during the growing season. The Saturday workshop will give you the hands-on experience to prune your blueberries with confidence. Join for one or both classes.

Anya Osatuke is the Western New York Small Fruits Extension Specialist working with Harvest New York and the New York State Berry Growers Association. For her Masters degree, Anya researched strawberries with Dr. Marvin Pritts at Cornell University. Anya grew up gardening and foraging and loves to discuss native and invasive edibles in the landscape.

Our goal is to help our areas gardeners have access to this knowledge, free from financial barriers. We have several scholarship spots in each class.  If you would like a scholarship spot, please reach out to Maria Christian at mjc72@cornell.edu
