Raising Beef Cattle 101

THIS SESSION OF BEEF 101 IS FULL.  IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN THE CLASS, PLEASE EMAIL ERIN HULL AT elh233@cornell.edu  IF THERE IS ENOUGH INTEREST, ANOTHER SESSION CAN BE ADDED.

Have an interest in raising Beef Cattle?

This is a great workshop to learn the basics and more.  We’ll cover terminology, breed selection, nutritional requirements, housing requirements, marketing and more!

You can gain information on how to get started, how to care for the animals as well as what the market demands are for your product.  This is a wonderful opportunity to make connections to get you moving in the right direction.  Whether you’re a new farmer, looking to start a farm, or raise for your own consumption, you’ll be able to take away helpful information.  Experts will be on hand to answer any of the questions you might have regarding starting your own beef herd.
