Oswego County 4-H is hosting Sparks - Birds of Prey, a three session, afterschool science 4-H club. Participants will learn about the wide variety of New York State birds of prey examining their skulls, how to identify them when in flight as well as how to use binoculars, and other unique features that make these birds one-of-a-kind. Two of the three sessions will take place at the Amboy 4HEEC at 6:00 p.m. (April 20th, April 27th) learning all about these birds, then the last session will take place at the Derby Hill Bird Observatory in Mexico, NY. We will be meeting there on Saturday, April 29th at 10:00 a.m. to watch these birds in flight and walk the property.
Sparks - Birds of Prey is available to Oswego County youth aged 8 to 18. The fee to participate is $14 per youth. Registration is required as space is limited. A parent or legal guardian must attend the first session on April 20th, if the youth is not currently enrolled in the Oswego County 4-H Program.
Facemasks may be worn if a participant chooses to, but are not required.
