Careers with Animals and Agriculture
When: Tuesday, August 18, 2020 – Thursday, August 20, 2020
Where: Columbia, Sullivan, and Dutchess Counties
Who: Youth entering grades 9-12
Cost: $300; financial assistance is available to those with demonstrated need.
Register early! Space is limited to 12 youth. Payment is due upon registration. Spaces will only be reserved for those who have paid.
Learn about animals, agriculture, and career possibilities as we tour local businesses in the Hudson Valley! Each day, we will meet at the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rockland County and travel to farms in nearby counties.

Thursday, August 13
6:00pm – 7:00pm: Mandatory Orientation for youth and parents/guardians
Tuesday, August 18 – Columbia County
7:45am: Meet at CCE Rockland (10 Patriot Hills Drive, Stony Point, NY 10980)
9:30am – 11:00am: Sequel New York
11:15am – 12:45pm: Fiber Farm
12:45pm – 1:15pm: Lunch
1:30pm – 2:45pm: Gansvoort Farm
3:00pm – 4:15pm: Poultry Farm
5:30pm: Return to CCE Rockland
Wednesday, August 19 – Sullivan County
8:15am: Meet at CCE Rockland
10:00am – 11:00am: Catskill Fish Hatchery
11:45am – 1:00pm: Buck Brook Alpacas
1:00pm – 1:30pm: Lunch
2:00pm – 4:00pm: New York Bee Sanctuary
5:40pm: Return to CCE Rockland
Thursday, August 20 – Dutchess County
8:00am: Meet at CCE Rockland
9:30am – 10:30am: Locust Hill Market
10:30am – 11:45am: Hoofprint Cheese Company
11:50am – 12:45pm: Lunch at CCE Dutchess
1:00pm – 2:15pm: Hahn Farm
2:45pm – 4:00pm: Del’s Dairy Farm
5:40pm: Return to CCE Rockland
Youth Expectations:
Attend orientation and all three program days
Have transportation to and from CCE Rockland each day
Be on time
Bring a packed lunch (snacks and water will be provided)
Follow 4-H Code of Conduct
Adhere to biosecurity measures (will be explained at orientation)
Complete 4-H enrollment forms upon registration
